Description:
Segment from "The World Report" October 2008During the heat of an August weekend in Northern California, more than six thousand Latter-day Saint Boy Scouts and their leaders assembled for three days of adventure, challenges, and spiritual growth. The Sons of Liberty Scout Encampment is one of the largest gatherings of its kind in the Western United States. This event included more than 21 Latter-day Saint stakes and spread out over several acres of ranch land near Sacramento. The highlight of the scouting event was a special visit from Elder Perry from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. On his first day at the encampment, Elder Perry spent the better part of the afternoon meeting with the Scouts one at a time, encouraging them, and getting a firsthand look at their activities—and in some cases, trying some of the skills he learned as a scout himself. For more information: http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/e...© 2008 Intellectual Reserve, Inc.
