Description:
With Spencer W. Kimball as the President of the Church, many memorable and important events occurred for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church) from the years 1981 to 1985.There was increased international visibility and significant crganizational changes to meet the Church's great missionary effort and growth. This period brought into focus the Church's threefold mission of proclaiming the gospel to the world, perfecting the Saints, and redeeming the dead. But above all else, this was a time of temple building, with 26 temples being dedicated. In 1981, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sung at the inauguration of President Ronald Reagan. The Book of Mormon continued to be translated in additional languages. The "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" subtitle was added to the Book of Mormon. A new edition of the triple combination was finished in 1981, with expanded footnotes and index. These were just some of the momentous events of this time.
