Mary's Lullaby
This recording was made in 1980 at a church Christmas program. Mary was holding her nine-day-old son, Kristopher. She was first privileged to perform this song in the early 1970s before it was even
published and has been invited to sing it many times since, so she almost feels like it is her song. The music was written by Wanda West Palmer and the words by Bertha Kleinman.

Mormon Missionaries: Brigham Young - The Book of Mormon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3Zsvm... is a video describing how to learn more about the Mormon Church. This clip portrays Brigham Young describing how early Mormon missionaries touched his heart by
the power of a simple testimony of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. Brigham Young later joined the LDS Church and became the second president and prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints.Once converted to Mormonism, Brigham proclaimed and defended the Book of Mormon. On his first mission to the Eastern states as a Mormon missionary, he experienced a hostile encounter
with a Boston minister. Brigham found the best solution to the problem was to share his testimony of the Book of Mormon. He wrote, "We bore testimony of the Book of Mormon and drowned him in
his own words and let him go."Brigham was fearless in his declaration of the Book of Mormon as the word of God, as a missionary and Church leader. He occasionally referred to the large number
of witnesses it had: "How many witnesses has the Book of Mormon? Hundreds and thousands are now living upon the earth, who testify to its truth." On one of his missionary travels, he
listened to several religious leaders attempt to prove that everyone ought to believe in the reality of the Lord Jesus Christ because of the miracles he performed that were recorded in the New
Testament. Using their same logic, Brigham observed that if eight New Testament authors, "who have been dead for about seventeen hundred years," were enough to establish the divinity
of the Savior, then the twelve living witnesses who testified that they saw and handled the plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated should be enough to convince the world that the Book of
Mormon is true.Brigham further testified that every person could become a personal witness of the Book of Mormon by receiving his or her own spiritual confirmation of the truth: "Here is the
Book of Mormon. . . . In that book we learn that Jesus visited this continent, delivered his Gospel and ordained Twelve Apostles. We believe all this, but we do not ask you to believe it. What we do
ask is that you will believe what is recorded in the Holy Bible concerning God and His revelations to the children of men. Do this in all honesty and sincerity, then you will know that the Book of
Mormon is true. Your minds will be opened and you will know by . . . the Spirit of God that we teach the truth."To request a free copy of the Book of Mormon or a visit from Mormon

The (Mormon) Book - How Rare a Possession - LDS - Part 1/5
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3Zsvm... is a video describing how to learn more about the Mormon Church. An Italian Protestant minister in the early 1900s gives up his ministry for a book without a
name. Twenty years later he discovers An Italian Protestant minister in the early 1900s gives up his ministry for a book without a name. Twenty years later he discovers it is the Book of MormonThe
story that follows is Brother Francesca's account of his remarkable conversion. A letter that Brother Francesca wrote to Avard Fairbanks. The letter, currently in the Church archives, is the only
known account by the author, in English, of his forty-year struggle to join the Church. As I think back to the events in my life leading to a cold morning in New York City in February 1910, I cannot
escape the feeling that God had been mindful of my existence. That morning the caretaker of the Italian chapel delivered a note to me from the pastor. He was ill in bed and wished me to come to his
house, as he had important matters to discuss regarding the affairs of the parish. As I walked down Broadway, the strong wind from the open sea moved the pages of a book lying on a barrel full of
ashes. The form of the pages and the binding gave me the idea that it was a religious book. Curiosity pushed me to approach it. I picked it up and beat it against the barrel to knock off the ashes. It
was printed in the English idiom, but when I looked to the frontispiece, I found it was torn away. The fury of the wind turned the pages, and I hastily read Alma, Mosiah, Mormon, Moroni, Isaiah,
Lamanites-except for Isaiah, all were names I had never before heard. I wrapped the book in a newspaper I had bought nearby and continued my walk toward the pastor's house. After a few words of
comfort there, I took accord of what I should do for him. On the way home, I wondered who the people with the strange names might be. And who was this Isaiah? Was he the one in the Bible or some other
Isaiah? At home, I seated myself before the window, anxious to know what was printed in the book. As I turned the torn pages and read the words of Isaiah, I was convinced that it was a religious book
that talked of things to come. But unknown was the name of the church that taught such doctrine, because the cover and frontispiece had been stripped off. The declaration of the witnesses gave me
confidence that it was a true book. I then bought twenty cents' worth of denatured alcohol and some cotton at the neighborhood drugstore and began cleaning the pages. For several hours I read the
remainder of the pages, which gave me light and knowledge and left me charmed to think of the source from which this fresh revelation had come. I read and reread, twice and twice again, and I found it
fit to say that the book was a fifth gospel of the Redeemer. At the end of the day, I locked the door of my room, knelt with the book in my hands, and read chapter ten of the book of Moroni. I prayed
to God, the Eternal Father, in the name of his son, Jesus Christ, to tell me if the book were of God, if it were good and true, and if I should mix its words with the words of the four gospels in my
preaching. I felt my body become cold as the wind from the sea. Then my heart began to palpitate, and a feeling of gladness, as of finding something precious and extraordinary, bore consolation to my
soul and left me with a joy that human language cannot find words to describe. I had received the assurance that God had answered my prayer and that the book was of greatest benefit to me and to all
who would listen to its words. ....On February 13, 1949, 1 sent a letter to Elder Widtsoe at Church headquarters in Salt Lake City. Elder Widtsoe answered my letter October 3, 1950, explaining that he
had been in Norway. I sent him a long letter in reply in which I asked him to help me to be quickly baptized, because I felt that I had proven myself to be a faithful son and servant of God, observing
the laws and commandments of his kingdom. Elder Widtsoe asked President Samuel E. Bringhurst of the Swiss-Austrian Mission to go to Sicily to baptize me. On January 18, 1951, President Bringhurst
arrived on the island and baptized me at Imerese. Apparently, this was the first baptism performed in Sicily. On April 28, 1956, I entered the temple at Bern and received my endowment. At last, to be
in the presence of my Heavenly Father! I felt that God's promise had been fully fulfilled-the day had come indeed when the book would be no more unknown to me and I would be able to enjoy the
effects of my faith. Brother Francesca died 18 November 1966 at Gesta Gratten (Palermo), Italy. Before his death, he was able to do the temple work for many of his ancestors. To request a free copy of

The Life and Death of Mormon Founder Joseph Smith Jr. - 1/2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3Zsvm... is a video describing how to learn more about the Mormon Church.Joseph Smith, Jr. (1805-1844) was the founder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. Mormons call him a prophet because, according to the traditional role of prophets recorded in the Old and New Testaments, he relied on revelation from God for teaching the people, and not on
his own wisdom or learning. The Prophet Joseph Smith is one of the most charismatic and influential religious figures in American history. Joseph Smith acquired many followers throughout his life, but
also many opponents, because his teachings were not welcomed by most people in the existing Christian community. In 1820, at the age of fourteen, Joseph was deeply perplexed about which church he
should join, and the conflicting preaching of many religious ministers increased his uncertainty. Members of his immediate family were drawn to the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches. Joseph was
determined to know which of the many religions was right. After reading a passage in the Bible in the Book of James, instructing any who lacked wisdom to "ask of God" (James 1:5),
Joseph decided to turn directly to God for guidance. Early one morning in the spring of 1820, Joseph went to a secluded wood to ask God which church he should follow. As he was praying, as he
recounted later, God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him. This experience is called the First Vision in Mormonism and considered a pivotal event in the history of humankind, second
only to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The importance of the event hinges on its definition as the beginning of the restoration of Christ's true gospel on earth, which was lost upon
the death of the original apostles. Later, in 1823, Joseph Smith said he was also visited by an angel named Moroni, who told him of an ancient record containing God's dealings with the former
inhabitants of the American continent. Joseph was shown the forest location of the record's hiding place by the angel. However, he was also told that he should wait another four years before
being able to obtain the record, and that until then he should return each year to the same place to receive further instructions. In 1827, Joseph was finally able to retrieve the record, which was
inscribed on golden plates. Shortly after obtaining these golden plates, Joseph Smith began translating its words by the "gift of God." The result of his translating efforts became
known as the Book of Mormon—Another Testament of Jesus Christ, which was published in March of 1830. Following the publication of the Book of Mormon, on April 6, 1830, the prophet finally organized
the Church and became its first president. While working in Harmony, Pennsylvania, in 1825, Joseph Smith met Emma Hale. On January 18, 1827, Joseph and Emma were married. Together they had eleven
children (including two who were adopted), only five of whom lived past infancy. Joseph deeply loved his family, and his personal writings are filled with concerns and prayers for the welfare of his
family. On June 27, 1844, while in Carthage Jail, Joseph Smith and his brother, Hyrum Smith, were killed by a mob. During his short life, the Prophet Joseph established cities, produced volumes of
scriptures, and sent missionaries throughout the world. He was involved in the construction of temples, served as mayor of Nauvoo, and was even a candidate for the presidency of the United States. He
has been described by men not of his faith as the most influential religious leader in American history. He was definitely a controversial figure who attracted persecution because he challenged
established creeds. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do not worship the Prophet Joseph, but they do revere him as the instrument by which the Gospel of Jesus Christ was
restored to the earth. Information from http://www.mormonwiki.com

What Mormons Believe about Jesus Christ - Mormonism
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3Zsvm... is a video describing how to learn more about the Mormon Church. On January 1, 2000, the leaders of the Mormon Church (Mormonism) issued the following about LDS
(Mormon) beliefs about Jesus Christ:As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ two millennia ago, we offer our testimony of the reality of His matchless life and the infinite virtue of His great
atoning sacrifice. None other has had so profound an influence upon all who have lived and will yet live upon the earth. He was the Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New. Under the
direction of His Father, He was the creator of the earth. "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:3). Though sinless, He was
baptized to fulfill all righteousness. He "went about doing good" (Acts 10:38), yet was despised for it. His gospel was a message of peace and goodwill. He entreated all to follow
His example. He walked the roads of Palestine, healing the sick, causing the blind to see, and raising the dead. He taught the truths of eternity, the reality of our premortal existence, the purpose
of our life on earth, and the potential for the sons and daughters of God in the life to come.He instituted the sacrament as a reminder of His great atoning sacrifice. He was arrested and condemned on
spurious charges, convicted to satisfy a mob, and sentenced to die on Calvary's cross. He gave His life to atone for the sins of all mankind. His was a great vicarious gift in behalf of all who
would ever live upon the earth. We solemnly testify that His life, which is central to all human history, neither began in Bethlehem nor concluded on Calvary. He was the Firstborn of the Father, the
Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world. He rose from the grave to "become the firstfruits of them that slept" (1 Corinthians 15:20). As Risen Lord, He visited among
those He had loved in life. He also ministered among His "other sheep" (John 10:16) in ancient America. In the modern world, He and His Father appeared to the boy Joseph Smith,
ushering in the long-promised "dispensation of the fulness of times" (Ephesians 1:10).Of the Living Christ, the Prophet Joseph wrote: "His eyes were as a flame of fire; the
hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah,
saying:"I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father" (D&C 110:3--4).Of Him the Prophet also declared:
"And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!"For we saw him, even on the right hand of
God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father—"That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof
are begotten sons and daughters unto God" (D&C 76:22--24).We declare in words of solemnity that His priesthood and His Church have been restored upon the earth—"built upon
the foundation of . . . apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone" (Ephesians 2:20).We testify that He will someday return to earth. "And the glory of
the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together" (Isaiah 40:5). He will rule as King of Kings and reign as Lord of Lords, and every knee shall bend and every tongue shall
speak in worship before Him. Each of us will stand to be judged of Him according to our works and the desires of our hearts. We bear testimony, as His duly ordained Apostles—that Jesus is the Living
Christ, the immortal Son of God. He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads
to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son.THE FIRST PRESIDENCY THE QUORUM OF THE TWELVEFor more information about what
